Henan Kaifeng University of Science and Technology and Media was founded in 2003. Its predecessor was the Minsheng College of Henan University. In 2009, Henan Daily Newspaper Group and Henan University joined forces to jointly organize the Minsheng College. In February 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Henan Kaifeng University of Science and Technology and Media.
