Dalian University of Finance and Economics was founded in 2001. It was established in 2013 by the transfer of Jinqiao Business School of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is an independent local, applied undergraduate university of finance and economics under the management of Liaoning Provincial Department of Education. In 2015, the school was identified as one of the first 10 pilot universities in Liaoning Province to transform into an applied university. The school is located in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, adjacent to Jinshitan Scenic Area, Daheishan Scenic Area and Liaoning Free Trade Pilot Zone.
