Baoji Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government in April 2003 and registered with the Ministry of Education. It is located in Baoji City, the hometown of the Chinese ancestor Yan Emperor, the birthplace of Zhou and Qin culture, an important industrial city in western China, and the second largest city in Shaanxi Province. The college has a 120-year history of running schools. It inherits the vocational education tradition of seven national and provincial key technical secondary schools in the city, including Shaanxi Fengxiang Normal School (1902), Baoji Health School (1934), Baoji Traditional Chinese Medicine School (1952), Shaanxi Baoji Agricultural School (1959), Baoji Industrial School (1964), Baoji Finance and Economics School (1978), and Baoji Normal School (1992). It was the first in the province to pass the evaluation of the talent training level of higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education. It is now a provincial "Double High Plan" construction unit, a provincial demonstrative higher vocational college, a provincial civilized campus, a provincial safe campus, a provincial garden-style unit, a provincial smart campus demonstration school, a provincial general college mental health education and consultation demonstration center, a national rural revitalization talent training quality school, and one of the top 100 vocational education employment colleges in China. The city's target responsibility assessment in 2019 and 2021 was rated as excellent, and it ranked first in the national higher vocational teacher rankings in 2020 and 2022. The college is located in the eastern area of Baoji National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The college follows the concept of "integration of production and education, cooperation between schools and enterprises, combination of work and study, and education and training", and actively promotes the "five-in-one" cooperation model of bases, enrollment, teaching, scientific research and employment. It has established cooperative relations with more than 400 large and medium-sized enterprises and institutions in and outside the province, and has built 8 industrial colleges with Geely Group, Shaanxi Construction Group, and Xi'an Excellent New Energy Application Talent Development Center.
