Wuhan Railway Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1956. In 2001, it was approved by the People's Government of Hubei Province to establish a higher vocational college. In 2004, it was transferred from the Ministry of Railways to the People's Government of Hubei Province for management. The school is a national "double high plan" construction unit, a national demonstration higher vocational college, a national high-quality higher vocational college, an outstanding school of the Sixth Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award, a typical college with employment experience for college graduates in the country, a top 50 higher vocational college service contribution, and a top 50 higher vocational college with international influence. It presided over the construction of 2 national professional teaching resource libraries, built 3 national online boutique courses, 7 provincial online boutique courses, 24 edited textbooks were awarded the first batch of national planning textbooks for vocational education in the "14th Five-Year Plan", and won 16 national and provincial teaching achievement awards.
