Xianda College of Economics and Humanities, Shanghai International Studies University, one of the first batch of full-time independent undergraduate colleges in the country, was approved by the Ministry of Education of China in 2004. In 2021, it was awarded the early cultivation project of the master's degree awarding unit of Shanghai Degree Office. It is jointly organized by Shanghai International Studies University and Shanghai Xianda Investment Co., Ltd. The school currently has two campuses in Hongkou and Chongming. The Hongkou campus is located in the northeast of the city, adjacent to Shanghai International Studies University; the Chongming campus is located in Chenjia Town, Chongming District. The campus style highlights the diverse integration of classic and modern interweaving, and the encounter between the East and the West. The first phase of the building adopts the design concept of neoclassicism and Tuscan style, which complements the unique ecological environment. The design of the second phase is based on the classic modern higher education institution academic architectural style, integrating the Chinese garden planning concept, and has a unique Jiangnan charm. Strong faculty and distinctive teaching and research system background The school relies on the strong faculty of Shanghai International Studies University and its advantages in foreign language teaching and research to build a discipline and professional system with foreign languages and literature, economics and management as advantageous disciplines, art design as a distinctive discipline, and coordinated development of disciplines such as law and education. There are currently 27 undergraduate majors in 6 major disciplines, and more than 10,000 full-time undergraduate students. The school insists on taking the development of students as the center, adhering to the fundamental mission of "establishing morality and cultivating people", and promoting the school motto of "the wise are virtuous, and the wise are good at doing things". Focusing on the goal of cultivating "compound and applied talents with noble feelings, global vision and cross-cultural communication and communication skills", the school actively explores the "foreign language +" and "digital +" compound talent training model, promotes the construction of new liberal arts, strengthens the international characteristics of school-running, improves the quality of education and teaching, and enhances the core competitiveness of the school. It has established school-enterprise cooperation relationships with well-known companies such as Oriental International Group, East China Architectural Design Group, Jinjiang Tourism Group, UFIDA Xindao, Shangqing Industry, Japan Itochu Logistics, Panasonic Electric, Ctrip International Travel Agency, etc., to carry out professional internship practices and cultivate high-quality compound and application-oriented talents. Internationalized education concepts and management models provide opportunities for further study in world-class universities. The school insists on open education, takes the road of international education, and actively introduces advanced education concepts and management models from excellent domestic and foreign universities. More than 50% of the teaching staff have been excellent returnees, and the school has established stable friendly cooperative relations with more than 100 well-known universities in 20 countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China, Macau, China, and Taiwan, China.
