Liaoning Institute of Technology is located in Jinzhou, a historical and cultural city known as the "Hero City" in the Liaoxi Corridor on the Bohai Bay. The school's history can be traced back to the private branch of Jinzhou Normal College established in 1999. In 2003, it was renamed Bohai University College of Arts and Sciences with the approval of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education. In 2014, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be renamed Liaoning Institute of Technology. In 2023, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. The school currently has two campuses, Songshan and Binhai, covering an area of about 593.7 acres and a building area of 235,500 square meters. There are 10 secondary colleges, including the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Intelligent Engineering, and the School of Information Engineering, 1 public teaching unit and 1 affiliated unit. There are 439 full-time teachers and 7,125 students. At present, it has developed into a multi-disciplinary science and engineering application-oriented university with engineering as the main subject and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, management, economics, literature, and education. Since its establishment, the school has provided more than 28,000 talents of various types, represented by Liu Yan, the winner of the "National May 1st Labor Medal". The school has 36 undergraduate majors and 4 junior college majors. It currently has 2 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship education reform pilot majors, and has built 2 Liaoning Province first-class undergraduate majors in computer science and technology and logistics engineering, and 7 provincial college students' off-campus practical education bases; it has been approved for 38 provincial first-class undergraduate courses, 12 provincial inter-school cooperation projects, and 41 provincial education reform projects; it has won 6 provincial teaching achievement awards, 1 third prize in the national teacher teaching innovation competition, 1 provincial first prize, 1 second prize, 4 third prizes, and 27 provincial and municipal teaching competition awards. The school continues to strengthen the construction of the teaching staff in accordance with the principle of "reasonable structure, equal emphasis on introduction and cultivation, combination of full-time and part-time, and priority for dual teachers". There are 174 teachers with senior professional titles, 317 teachers with master's degrees or above, and 94 dual-teacher and dual-capable teachers. 15 school-level teaching teams and 1 excellent teaching and research team for aesthetic education in Liaoning Province have been established. There is 1 recipient of the special government allowance of the State Council, 2 famous teachers in Liaoning Province, and 2 excellent teachers in Liaoning Province. Won the advanced collective of network training for college teachers in Liaoning Province in 2021-2022. The implementation rate of graduates' graduation destinations is over 93%, ranking among the top similar colleges and universities in the province, and won the first prize for employment of ordinary college graduates in Liaoning Province in 2022.
