History and establishment time

On January 27, 1966, the Senate of the Finnish Parliament decided to establish an economic school in Vaasa. The first batch of students began classes here in 1968. In 1977, the private business school became a public school. In 1980, anthropology was opened, in 1983, sociology was opened, and from 1994 to 1997, the private business school became a public school. In 2000, the new university teaching building was completed, and all departments moved to the same campus, gradually developing into the current Vaasa University.

The campus of the University of Vaasa is located in Palosaari, Vaasa, Finland. The campus environment is unique, perfectly blending history and modernity.
