Introduction
Atlantic Technological University is a multi-campus university of technology in the west and northwest of Ireland. It was formed by the merger of Galway-Maynooth Institute of Technology, Sligo Institute of Technology and Letterkenny Institute of Technology. It is the fourth university of technology established in Ireland, providing students with rich academic and research resources and high-quality living experience.

Key laboratories: The Sligo campus has a material testing and analysis laboratory. The laboratory was established in 2001 and consists of a material forming laboratory, a material science laboratory and a basic material science and engineering laboratory. The building area is nearly 3,000 square meters and has advanced equipment such as CLOOS ROMAT 350 arc welding robot system and X-ray diffractometer.
