History and establishment time
In May 2020, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar announced the approval of the merger of Cork Institute of Technology and Tralee Institute of Technology to form Munster Technological University, which will be established in January 2021. It was officially established in July.

Campus
Campus distribution: It consists of six campuses located in Cork and Kerry, including the Bishopstown Campus in Cork, the Irish National Maritime College Campus, the Cork Conservatory of Music Campus, the Crawford School of Art and Design Campus, and the North Campus and South Campus in Kerry.
Campus facilities:
Bishopstown Campus: It is the main campus, covering an area of about 80 acres, located in the western suburbs of Cork. The campus has teaching facilities such as theaters, classrooms, laboratories, drawing studios, libraries, computer rooms, open access computing centers and research units. It is also equipped with recreational facilities such as running tracks, tennis courts, all-weather courts, gyms and grass sports fields. There is also an indoor swimming pool nearby.
