Basic information
Founded in 2007, but can be traced back to the Congo Northern Theological Seminary in 1959.

Historical evolution
Established in 1959 as the Congo Northern Theological Seminary (École de théologie au Congo du Nord).
Opened in 1961 in Bangi Weide, 65 kilometers north of Kisangani.
Forced to move to Bunia in 1964 due to the Simba rebellion.
Moved to the current main campus in 1967.
In 1973, it was renamed the Bunia Higher Theological School (Institut Supérieur Théologique de Bunia).
In 1986, it launched its first master's degree in theology.
In 2007, it became the University of Peace in Bunia, with five colleges.
In 2011, it opened its first doctoral program at the Evangelical Theological Seminary.
In 2015, it established a medical school.

Teaching Resources: There are two campuses, the main campus Campus Southard covers an area of 12 hectares, and Campus Langford covers an area of 38 hectares. It has 58 buildings and ancillary facilities, including 44 classrooms, 26 staff dormitories, 66 student apartments, 1 kindergarten, 1 primary and secondary school, and 1 clinic.
