Overview
Kokugakuin University (abbreviated as "Kokugakuin" or "Kokugakuin") is a private university located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, founded in 1882. The history of the school can be traced back to the Imperial Academy established in 1882, and the first president was Prince Arisugawa of the royal family. Kokugakuin University is one of the first private universities in Japan under the old system, and is also a member of the Tokyo 12 Universities. It belongs to the private school group of "Seijo Meigaku Dokubu".
