Overview
Kyoto University (Japanese: Kyoto University, abbreviated as: Kyoto University/きょうだい) is a national research university located in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It was founded in 1897. Its history can be traced back to the Kyoto Medical School established in 1869.
