Introduction

Technical University of Kosice is an internationally renowned research-based educational institution located in Košice, Slovakia, providing education and smart solutions for all areas of life. It is one of the strongest universities in Slovakia.

History and establishment time

The university was founded in 1952, but its history can be traced back to earlier. In 1657, Universitas Cassoviensis was founded in Košice, and in 1762, Queen Maria Theresa of Hungary established the Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica, laying the foundation for technical education. In 1937, the M. R. Štefánik State Technical College was established in Košice. Due to the war, it was relocated. On July 8, 1952, the Czechoslovak government issued Directive No. 30/1952 to establish the Košice Technical College, which has three colleges of heavy engineering, mining and metallurgy. It continued to grow and develop in the future. On February 13, 1991, it was renamed Technical University of Kosice.

Teaching: Nine colleges offer more than 530 accredited bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree courses. The teaching methods are diverse, including lectures, seminars, laboratory work, etc., and are closely integrated with the needs of industry and commerce.
