Introduction

Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University is a well-known higher education institution in Ukraine, with a history dating back to 1874. It is named after Boris Grinchenko, an outstanding Ukrainian educator and writer.

History and establishment time

The school's history began with the teacher training education course opened in Kyiv in 1874. In 1919, the Boris Grinchenko Teacher Training Institute began operations, which was later reorganized into the Kyiv Teacher Training Course named after Boris Grinchenko. In 1939, the Kyiv Teacher Training College was established on this basis.

In 1993, the Kyiv Teacher Training College was officially named Boris Grinchenko Academy of Sciences and provided in-service training for teachers in Kyiv schools. In 2002, the college was reorganized into the Kyiv City Boris Grinchenko Pedagogical University and began to grant teaching degrees.

In 2007, the school entered a new stage of development, and the president, Victor Ognevi, was committed to transforming it into a modern, dynamic and European-oriented educational institution. On October 8, 2008, the school was renamed Kyiv Boris Grinchenko University and became a comprehensive university. The disciplines and majors are no longer limited to teacher education.
