Introduction

Donetsk National Medical University is one of the best and largest medical universities in Ukraine and even in Eastern Europe. Student size: The school has a total of about 15,200 students, including 7,000 undergraduates, 1,400 postgraduates, 3,000 doctoral students, and a large number of international students from 89 countries around the world.

History

Donetsk National Medical University was founded in 1930, then known as the Stalin Medical College. After that, the school changed its name several times. In 1994, the school obtained university qualifications, in 2007, the school obtained national qualifications, and in 2017, the school obtained a doctorate in medicine. In 1930, the name of Gorky was removed from the university and it was officially renamed Donetsk National Medical University.

Faculty: It has 1,147 teachers, including 2 academicians of the Ukrainian Academy of Medical Sciences, 8 corresponding academicians of the Ukrainian Academy of Medical Sciences, 9 academicians of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences of Higher Education, 186 professors, 660 associate professors, etc. The faculty is strong and provides high-quality teaching and guidance for students.

Teaching facilities: The school has 13 teaching buildings, equipped with 37 computer classrooms and libraries, 9 student dormitories, and has a reading hall and a gymnasium, as well as a preventive health care center, a stadium, a sports and health service center, etc., providing students with a good learning and living environment.

Scientific research results: The school has two medical research centers, which have achieved remarkable results in medical research and promoted the development and innovation of medical disciplines. At the same time, the school is also the regional Bologna process management center of Ukraine. Students receive education in accordance with the Bologna Agreement and can obtain European diplomas after graduation. After completing the first year of study, they can transfer credits to other European medical universities.
