Introduction

Founded in 1992, Donetsk State University of Management is a higher education institution dedicated to training managers, economists, financiers, sociologists, and experts in law, management, marketing, etc. based on the development of Ukraine's market economy. It has obtained the national IV level evaluation and is one of the famous universities in Ukraine. It is internationally recognized and has extensive cooperation with many domestic and foreign institutions.

History

1992-1996: June 1992 In July, Donetsk Academy of Management was established on the basis of the Institute for Qualification Improvement of Managers and Specialists of the Ministry of Coal Industry of Ukraine and was granted the status of a public higher education institution. Its statutes, structure and academic committee were developed and approved. A scientific research department, a production management school, a non-production management school, a distance education school, a postgraduate education school and a foreign student school were also established. A student scientific association was organized, the publication of the academy newspaper "Academic Knowledge" began, and it was fully certified and recognized according to the level III standards of the state accreditation of higher education institutions.

1997-2001: Postgraduate and master's programs were opened, the Toretsky Academy was established, the Graduates Association was established, the first cooperation agreements were signed with a number of educational institutions in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and France, the first issue of the scientific journal "Manager" was published, the anthem and departmental standards of the academy were approved, and the National Accreditation Commission IV level was obtained. The professional academic committee for the defense of doctoral dissertations in public administration was organized, and the Dean of the Academy, Professor Stanislav Povazhny, was awarded the title of "Person of the Year 2000" by the American Biographical Institute.

2002-2006: In 2002 In 2017, the Donetsk Academy of Management celebrated its 10th anniversary and established a museum of the history of the academy, organized a special committee for doctoral dissertation defenses, and the academy's dean, Professor Stanislav Povazhny, was named a corresponding member of the Ukrainian Academy of Pedagogical Sciences. In 2004, by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Donetsk Academy of Management was awarded the title of university and became the winner of the rating of higher education institutions in Ukraine, received the diploma of Sofia Kievskaya, and Professor Alexander Povazhny, PhD in Economic Sciences, Head of the Department of Finance, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, became the winner of the Presidential Award for Young Scientists of Ukraine.

2007-2012: Joined the Eurasian Association of Ukrainian Universities in 2007, received the diploma of high-quality training issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Professor Alexander Povazhny was elected as the president of the university, organized the professional academic committee for the defense of thesis of doctoral candidates in sociology, signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Development Program Ukraine, and launched the English-taught Master's program in Management of International Economic Activities in Europe in 2010.
