Introduction

Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts is an important higher education institution in Ukraine. It provides educational courses in many fields such as culture, art, and management. History

In 1968, according to Resolution No. 608 and Decision No. 459 of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the Kyiv National Academy of Culture was established. At that time, it only had departments such as "Cultural Education", "Library Science" and "Social Occupations".

In the early 1990s, the school actively responded to social changes, and students put forward a series of demands, such as raising the blue and yellow national flag and stopping the teaching of Soviet ideological courses. After that, the school established a branch of the Union of Ukrainian Students and established the Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian Language Association.

On April 21, 1993, the Minister of Culture of Ukraine Ivan Dzyuba appointed Professor Mihaylo Poplavsky as the dean of the Kyiv National Academy of Culture and Arts, and the school entered a new stage of development.

By 1996, the new dean had organized a highly qualified teaching team, developed and implemented a series of alternative financing schemes, produced the first commercial teaching materials, created a modern material and technical basis for the teaching process, updated the curriculum and teaching methods, opened new majors and related faculties, and created preparatory departments and new branches.

In 1997, in accordance with the concept of "forward-looking development", the school opened faculties such as "Law", "National Culture", "Computer Technology", and "Sociology", and also established Ukraine's first film and television academy for the training of professional talents such as television directors, photographers, advertisers, animation film directors and television journalists.

On November 11, 1997, the Ukrainian Cabinet awarded the Kyiv National Academy of Culture and Arts the title of "Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts" The status of the university means that the school can not only carry out graduate education, but also train doctoral students, and has opened Ukraine's first doctoral program in "Documentation and Library Science", "Social Education", "Music Education Methods" and other doctoral programs.

In 1999, the President of Ukraine granted the school the status of a "national" university, and the school was officially renamed the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
