Introduction to Busoga University:
Introduction: Busoga University is a private university in Uganda with the motto "Centre of Academic Excellence" and is associated with the Central Busoga Diocese of the Church of Uganda.
Overview
Student size: In 2014, the number of students exceeded 5,000.

History: In 1993, the Board of Directors of Busoga College Mwiri, under the leadership of the Bishop, passed a resolution to establish a university on the same mountain. In 1994, a university formation working group was established. In 1995, the Bishop held a ceremony to inaugurate the university, and the Diocese of Busoga handed over the land and buildings to the university. On February 12, 1999, the school opened to students. In 2017, its provisional license was revoked by the Uganda National Higher Education Commission, but it was allowed to reapply two years later.
