Introduction to Mountains of the Moon University:

Introduction: Moon Mountains University (MMU) is a university in Uganda, named after the local Rwenzori Mountains (also known as the Moon Mountains), providing higher education to students in Uganda and surrounding areas.

Faculty: 265 faculty members in 2022, of which 170 are on duty and 95 positions are vacant.

History

2005: On March 29, 2005, it was officially established with a school license issued by the Uganda National Higher Education Commission.

2018: In January 2018, the President of Uganda ordered it to be included in the list of public universities. In June 2018, it was awarded a university charter by the Uganda National Higher Education Commission.

2022: On July 1, 2022, it officially became a public university and fully operational.
