Introduction: Puntland State University is a public university located in Garowe, Puntland State, Somalia. It is an important local institution of higher education and has trained many professional talents for regional development.

History and establishment time: Its predecessor was Garowe Management College, which was originally a girls' school offering courses such as accounting, computer skills, business English and business management. After one year of operation, 60 women graduated, the school expanded to a two-year structure and was renamed Puntland Community College. In 2004, with the cooperation of the United Nations Development Program and the American International University in Nairobi, Puntland Community College expanded to a four-year program and was renamed Puntland State University.

School strength: It has established a sister school relationship with Minneapolis Community and Technical College in the United States. It has more than 60 academic staff and more than 1,000 students.
