Introduction to Takoradi Polytechnic:
History and Establishment
Establishment: In 1954, the school was originally established as a government technical college.
Development History: In 1992, it was upgraded to part of the Ghanaian higher education system through the Polytechnic Act (PN DCL 321), and began offering higher national diploma courses in the 1992/93 academic year. In September 2016, government policy transformed it into a technical university and renamed it Takoradi Technical University.

Teaching Resources: It has three campuses, namely Efiakuma (Takoradi) Campus, Butumajiyebu (Sekondi) Campus and Akakayi (Agona-Nkwanta) Campus. Akakayi Campus is the largest campus with an area of 152.3 acres.
