Introduction

History and establishment time

Development history: The school was originally established as a Seventh-day Adventist Missionary College by the West African Union Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, located in Bekwai, Ashanti. In 1983, the school moved to Adentan near Accra and operated in a rented facility. In 1989, it was renamed Valley View College. In 1995, the university established a partnership with Griggs University in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA, allowing it to offer a four-year bachelor's degree program in theology and religious studies. In the same year, it obtained national accreditation from the Ghana National Accreditation Commission, becoming the first private institution in Ghana to obtain national accreditation. On May 28, 2006, Valley View University received a charter from Ghanaian President John Kufuor, becoming a university with special status and rights.
