Introduction

Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics is located in Kharkiv, Ukraine. It is one of the oldest technical universities in Ukraine. It is in a leading position in the fields of radio electronics, telecommunications, information engineering and computer technology. It is one of the modern education and research centers in eastern Ukraine and enjoys a high reputation internationally.

Overview

Student size: The school has nearly 8,500 students studying in 29 majors, including about 200 doctoral students.

Teachers: There are currently 135 professors and about 450 associate professors teaching in the school, including 9 Ukrainian meritorious educators and 25 academicians of various Ukrainian and international academies of science.

History and establishment time

The school was founded on August 11, 1930. Its development process is as follows:

In 1930, the Kharkiv Institute of Engineering and Architecture was established on the basis of the Department of Architecture of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute and the Department of Architecture of the Kharkiv Academy of Arts.

In 1934, the Kharkiv Institute of Geodesy and the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography were merged into the institute.

In 1944, the institute was renamed the USSR Kharkiv Institute of Mining and Industry.

In 1947, the Kharkiv Institute of Mining and Industry was renamed the Kharkiv Mining Academy of the USSR Mining University.

In 1962, the institute was renamed the Kharkiv Institute of Mining Engineering, Automation and Computer Technology.

In 1966, the institute was renamed the Kharkiv Institute of Radioelectronics.

In 1981, the institution was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

In 1982, it was named after an outstanding rocket and space technology scientist and designer.

In 1993, the Kharkiv Institute of Radioelectronics was officially renamed the Kharkiv State University of Radioelectronics.

In 2001, the university was promoted to a national university.

School Strength

Teaching Staff: There are more than 700 teachers, including 122 doctors and professors, and more than 360 doctoral students. The teaching staff is strong and the teachers are of high quality, providing students with high-quality teaching and guidance.

Teaching Achievements: The school has trained a large number of outstanding talents and provided many professional talents in the field of electronic technology in Ukraine and other countries. Graduates have achieved remarkable achievements in their respective jobs.

International Cooperation: Nearly 10 international professional academic conferences are held every year, and close cooperation is maintained with the United Kingdom, Finland, France, Germany, the United States, China and other countries. Since 2001, it has become a research center for radio electronic technology in Ukraine, and established the "International Academy of Applied Radio Electronics". It is also the location of the "Ukrainian National Antenna Association" and the IEEE Eastern Ukraine Branch.

Key disciplines: Computer science, communication technology, electronic engineering and other majors are strong. The computer science major ranks 501 in the world, and information systems, software engineering and other majors are also well-known in the world.

Key laboratories: The school has many scientific research laboratories, such as Ukraine's first satellite communication laboratory, aviation radio electronic technology center, consumer electronics and microprocessor experimental center, banking industry electronic technology research center, etc., and has carried out a large number of cutting-edge scientific research projects, such as establishing a comprehensive monitoring and measurement system in near-Earth space research, and presiding over the research and launch of Ukraine's high-precision satellite "Sich-1".
