The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine is a well-known public higher education institution in Ukraine. The history of the school can be traced back to the Agricultural Department of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1918, the Kyiv Agricultural Institute became independent from the department in 1922, and the Kyiv Forest Management Institute was established in 1930 from the Forest Engineering Department of the Kyiv Agricultural Institute. In 1954, the Kyiv Agricultural Institute and the Kyiv Forest Management Institute merged to form the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and in 1957, the Kyiv Veterinary Institute was also incorporated into the Academy. In 1992, it was reorganized into the National Agricultural University of Ukraine, and in 1994 it was granted the status of a national university, and in 2008 it was changed to its current name.
