Introduction

National Medical University O.O. Bogomolets is a long-established and highly authoritative medical school in Ukraine. It is named after physiologist Oleksandr Bogomolets and provides medical education to students from more than 60 countries around the world.

The school was founded in 1841. Its history can be traced back to the Academy of Medical Sciences in 1644 and the Medical School of the Jesuit University in Vilnius founded by King Stefan Batory in 1579. The Department of Medicine has been in operation since 1781.
