Introduction
Uzhgorod State University is a famous comprehensive university in Ukraine and one of the traditional universities in Ukraine. It is located in the western city of Uzhgorod.

History and establishment time
The history of the university can be traced back to 1613, when a Jesuit monastery and college was established in Humenno (now Slovakia). From 1773 to 1920, it was the Uzhgorod Royal Catholic Higher Gymnasium, and from 1920 to 1945, it was the Uzhgorod State Russian Real School.
On October 18, 1945, the Government of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic and the Central Committee of the Communist Party passed a joint resolution on the establishment of a national university in Uzhgorod. The university initially had 4 colleges and officially opened on February 1, 1946.
