Introduction

Poltava State Medical University is a long-established higher medical education institution in Ukraine. It is famous for cultivating high-quality talents in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and other majors. Its medical education has a certain influence in Ukraine and even internationally. It is a fourth-level national higher education institution directly under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Student size: The school currently has more than 3,500 students, including 729 international students from 39 countries.

Faculty and staff: The school has 82 doctors of medical sciences, 316 scientific candidates, 75 professors, and 174 associate professors.

History and establishment time

The school was founded in 1921. Its predecessor was the Department of Stomatology of Kharkiv Medical University. It moved to Poltava in 1967 and was renamed Poltava State Medical University. In 1994, it obtained the sixth highest accreditation level in Ukraine and the status of Poltava State Medical University. In 2004, it was awarded the title of Poltava State Medical University. In 2017, it reached the confirmed level 4 certification.
