Introduction

National University of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko is one of the largest and most popular universities in eastern Ukraine. It is also an important center of higher education, scientific research and culture in the Donbas region, and occupies a high position in the field of education in Ukraine.

Faculty: There are more than 1,000 full-time and part-time teachers, including 52 academicians of the Ukrainian and foreign academies of sciences, 56 doctors, 295 associate doctors, 51 professors, and 260 associate professors.

History and establishment time

The school was founded on March 1, 1921. It was originally a teacher training course in Luhansk. In 1923, on this basis, the first higher education institution in the Donbas region was established-Donetsk National Education College. In 1934, the college was reorganized into Luhansk National Teacher Training College. In 1939, In 1990, it was officially named Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National Teachers College, and in 1998 it was renamed Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National Teachers University. In 2003, it became Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National Teachers University, and has the highest level of higher education qualification in Ukraine - Level 4.
