The university was established in June 1962 with the development of the Department of Integrated Technology of the Ukrainian Printing Institute. It initially enrolled 250 students in evening courses and distance learning, and about 200 students transferred from other higher education institutions to advanced courses in distance learning. Its development history is rich. After many reorganizations and transformations, it officially became Khmelnytsky National University in 2004.
