Introduction: Kumi University is a private university in Uganda. Adhering to the school motto of "Piety and Excellence, Service to Others", it is committed to providing students with quality education and cultivating talents with social responsibility and professional skills.

Student size: The number of students in 2023 reached 2,353.
Course settings: Certificate, diploma and bachelor's degree courses are provided, covering a variety of fields such as education, technology, social sciences, management, and theology.
History: The school's predecessor was the African Leadership Training Institute founded by Korean missionary couple Hyeong Lyeol Lyu and Min Ja Lee in 1996. It was renamed Kumi University in 1999 and obtained full certification from the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports in 2004.
Founding time: It was officially renamed Kumi University in 1999, and if counted from its predecessor, the African Leadership Training Institute, it was 1996.
School Strength
Teaching Staff: In 2021, there are more than 200 administrative staff and a professional teaching team, some of whom come from other countries such as South Korea.
International Cooperation: In October 2024, a letter of intent for cooperation was signed with Kyungil University and Cheongwoon International University in South Korea to actively carry out international exchanges and cooperation.

Campus Environment
Campus Distribution: The main campus is located in Nyero Parish, Kumi District, eastern Uganda, about 9 kilometers from Kumi Town and about 241 kilometers northeast of the capital Kampala. In 2007, a second campus was established in Soroti Town, 46 kilometers northwest of the main campus.
Facilities Construction: In November 2024, the school opened an advanced sports stadium, providing students with good sports activities and leisure space.
