Burgas Prof. Assen Zlatarov University is the only national university in southeastern Bulgaria, providing education in the fields of technical sciences, natural sciences and social sciences, covering undergraduate, master and doctoral programs.

History and Establishment

The university's history dates back to 1963, when it was the Higher Institute of Chemical Technology. On September 23, 1967, it was named "Assen Zlatarov". On July 21, 1995, the National Assembly passed a resolution to change it to a university.
