The University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy is located in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It is the oldest higher education institution in Bulgaria in the field of architecture and civil engineering. The school was founded in 1942. It was originally a national higher technical school. In 1945, it was changed to a national technical school. In 1953, it was separated into a higher school of architectural engineering. In 1977, it was renamed the Higher School of Architecture and Civil Engineering. On July 21, 1995, the National Assembly passed a resolution to change it to a university. On November 15, 2001, it was highly praised and received national acceptance for a period of 5 years.
