Introduction and Overview

The University of Rousse, also known as "University of Rousse Angel Kanchev", is a public university in Rousse, Bulgaria. It is also an important educational, scientific and intellectual center in northeastern Bulgaria, playing an important role at the national and international levels.

History and Establishment

The university was established on November 12, 1945, and was originally the first state higher technical school outside the Bulgarian capital. On July 21, 1995, after the dissolution of the Higher School of Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization and Electrification, the University of Rousse was officially established.

School Strength

Faculty: It has 486 academic staff, including 31 professors, 177 associate professors and 85 assistants with doctoral degrees in science.

International cooperation: It is a full member of the European University Association (EUA) and the Danube Rectors' Conference (DRC), and has participated in projects such as CEEPUS, Socrates/Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci. It was selected by the European Commission to participate in the Tempus program consisting of 18 universities in 11 Central European countries, which have achieved the best results in the transformation of higher education.
