The University of Oxford, referred to as "Oxford", is located in Oxford, England. It is a public research university that adopts the traditional college system. It is a member of the Russell Group of Universities, known as the "Golden Triangle Elite University", "G5 Super Elite University", and a member of the Global University Presidents Forum.
The University of Oxford is the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the second oldest higher education institution in the world. The exact founding time of the University of Oxford is no longer traceable, but the earliest time of teaching clearly recorded in archives is 1096. In 1167, Henry II banned British students from studying at the University of Paris. With the strong support of the British royal family, it developed rapidly. Since 1902, the University of Oxford has also established the "Rhodes Scholarship" for undergraduates from all over the world.
