Established in 1983 with the establishment of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Business School, which was affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Zion College. In 1987, the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Community College was established. History
In 1983, the African Methodist Episcopal Zion College of Business was established.
In 1987, the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Community College was established, offering associate degrees in criminal justice administration and law enforcement, liberal arts, and business administration.
In May 1989, the first graduation ceremony was held.
In 1996, the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University College was established, with Rev. Frederick Umoja as the first president.
Currently, the school has developed into a university with multiple colleges that can offer a variety of bachelor's degree programs and has branches outside Monrovia.
