Introduction
Nimba University is a public higher education institution in Liberia. It is located in Sanniquili Town, Nimba County. It provides a wide range of learning opportunities for students in local and surrounding areas and plays an important role in promoting the development of education and talent cultivation in Liberia.
Overview
Established in 2010 as Nimba County Community College, on September 27, 2021, it was upgraded to a comprehensive university with bachelor's degree after the passage of a bill by the Liberian National Legislature and approved by President George Manneh Weah.

History
The development of Nimba University is closely related to the educational reform and development of Liberia. Nimba County Community College was established in 2010 under the background of the decentralization of higher education promoted by former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. After 11 years of successful operation, it was upgraded to Nimba University.
