Introduction

Pentecost University College is a private higher education institution located in Accra, Ghana. It was founded by the Church of Pentecost and is committed to providing high-quality higher education based on Christian values.

 

History and Establishment

 

Establishment: On May 22, 2003, the President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, presided over the inauguration ceremony.

 

Development History: Its predecessor was the Pentecost Bible College, which initially only trained lay leaders and full-time pastors for the church. In November 2004, the college was accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana and enrolled its first batch of students in February 2005.

School Strength

Student size: There were 171 students in the early days of the school in 2005. As of December 19, 2011, the number of students has reached 3,874, with international students coming from Botswana, Burkina Faso, Chad and many other countries.

Faculty: There are 55 faculty members, about 13% of whom have doctoral degrees, including 4 professors.

Campus Distribution: There are three campuses:

Main Campus: Located in Sowtum, west of Accra, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and traffic congestion, it is located in a quiet area beside the Kwashiman-Ofankol Expressway and is the center of undergraduate courses.

City Campus: The Kama Conference Center at Rab One on the outskirts of Accra is mainly used for graduate and executive education courses.

Agogo Campus: Located in Agogo near Konongo in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, it is mainly used for group vacation seminars, conferences and retreat activities.

Institutional Nature: Private non-profit institution.
